Online Consultation for Depression

Low mood that lingers for weeks, drains energy and removes interest in things you used to enjoy deserves a proper clinical assessment rather than waiting it out.

What depression means

Depression is more than sadness. It is a sustained change in mood, energy, sleep, appetite and thinking that persists most of the day, most days, and reduces a person's ability to function.

Common signs and symptoms

  • Low mood most of the day, most days
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities
  • Fatigue and low energy
  • Sleeping too little or too much
  • Changes in appetite or weight
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Feelings of guilt, hopelessness or worthlessness

When professional support may help

  • Symptoms have lasted two weeks or longer
  • You are withdrawing from people or work
  • Sleep or appetite has changed significantly
  • You have thoughts of harming yourself — seek urgent help immediately

How Veera's Global can help

Psychiatric evaluation and, where appropriate, medication management alongside therapy.

  • An assessment that separates depression from grief, burnout, thyroid problems, anaemia and sleep disorders
  • Structured talking therapy such as CBT or ACT with one of our psychologists
  • Antidepressant treatment where it is clinically indicated, with the reasoning explained and side effects reviewed
  • Both together, which is common in moderate to severe depression
  • A safety plan and, where risk is present, direction to in-person or emergency services

Fees, session length and what happens next

Fees
₹2,500 / US$25 for a consultation with our current specialists. The fee for each clinician is shown on their profile and again at checkout, converted to your local currency where a rate is available. There is no separate platform charge.
Session length
Session length is set by each clinician and shown on their profile and on the slot you pick, so you know the exact duration before you pay.
Languages
English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali. Languages vary by clinician and are listed on each profile — filter on the specialists page before booking.
How the session happens
Sessions are held in a Google Meet room created for that appointment only. Nothing is recorded unless you give explicit consent first.
Follow-up
Follow-up is booked the same way as the first appointment, with the same clinician where you prefer. Your notes, any prescription and previous sessions stay on one record, so you do not repeat your history each time.

Our psychiatrists are registered medical practitioners in India and work within India's Telemedicine Practice Guidelines. An e-prescription can be issued after assessment where those guidelines permit it for your presentation; some medicines must be prescribed in person.

Talking therapy with our psychologists is available wherever you can join a secure video call. Psychiatry consultations outside India are provided as assessment, review and second-opinion work; prescriptions for a country other than India generally have to be issued or endorsed by a clinician registered there, and your psychiatrist will tell you what applies in your case before you book a follow-up.

What online care cannot do

  • Online care is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline.
  • Medically supervised detoxification, acute psychosis and situations needing physical examination or admission require in-person services.
  • Prescribing depends on the clinician's registration and the rules of the country you are in; your clinician confirms what is possible at assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. You can book directly with a specialist from the specialists page.

What if I need urgent help?

Online consultations are not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline right away.

Important
